If you’re a parent, you’ve likely come across some dry Play-Doh one or two (okay…dozens of) times. Instead of getting frustrated and throwing it away, you can easily fix it! Here’s how to get back that soft, squishy, and flexible Play-Doh texture that our kids love!
When you find Play-Doh that’s been left out too long or put in a container with a not-so-tight lid, just put a couple (literally two) drops of water on the dough. Wipe it around a little if you need to, then start to knead it in to the dough. You will likely need to do this a few times, but it is important to do only a couple of drops at a time. If you put too much water in it, it’ll become slimey, which is another problem in itself.
In order to prevent stored Play-Doh from drying out, simply put a damp paper towel (loosely) around the Play-Doh just before putting it back in the container. The moisture will slowly make its way into the dough, keeping it from drying out!
There you have it! Now you don’t have to waste money by throwing away dry Play-Doh. Just add a little water and it should be as good as new!
